It’s oh, so hard to know what to do when you are watching a heart break.

You want to reach out and make it better, make the pain go away, make a difference.  But it seems like nothing you can do will matter much in the face of such a huge loss.

While it’s true that you cannot “fix”  the brokenness in a bereaved parent’s life, there are some very important and practical ways you can support them in their grief-especially as the weeks turn into months and then to years.

  1. April 26,2021…2 years since my 39 yr old son chose to leave…This is the bad news-the worst news I ever had…but the good news is that my extended family have not forgotten him either. They are flooding me with messages filled with their memories of Ryan. To know he really mattered in their lives helps to hold my broken heart together…Thank you, Melanie…Today will be a long day…I WILL go somewhere familiar and soak up my memories…and recall how blessed I truly am…
