In the waiting, in the searching
In the healing and the hurting
Like a blessing buried in the broken pieces
Every minute, every moment
Where I’ve been and where I’m going
Even when I didn’t know it or couldn’t see it
There was Jesus
Jonathan Smith/ Casey Beathard/ Zach Williams -“There Was Jesus”

Songs reach places in my heart that words alone can never touch.
There is so much truth in this one.
When I couldn’t see Him, couldn’t feel Him, had no evidence of His Presence-Jesus was there.
His strength sustained me, His love protected my heart from bitterness, His grace was enough-is enough-for each day.
In the waiting, in the searching.
There was Jesus.
In the healing and the hurting.
There was Jesus.
There is a blessing buried in the broken pieces.
He is Jesus.

Amen this song is a balm to my heart also

When my Anthony ran ahead to heaven at 24, I couldn’t do anything for weeks except sit on my screen porch with music in the background. I created a Restoration Promises playlist to remind of God’ truths. This song is on it. When I just can’t bring myself to pray, that playlist is there. I have since created Restoration Victory and Restoration Living playlists. This grief journey has many moods and often my music choices are a better indicator of my true mood than my outward appearance. We are 20 months down this “Desert Road” (Casting Crowns), but truly, “There is Jesus”.

I believe that my daughter, Chelsea last breath on earth was her first breath in Heaven. Chelsea was 8 when she went to Heaven Anna that was 25 years ago. But yet feels like yesterday. Thank you for your blog, it is a reminder that Jesus loves me.
