When Routine Wears You Down: Encouragement for the Worn Out Heart

It may not be this way around the country or around the world, but here in Alabama school has been in session for several weeks and the hot weather along with added commitments makes life a little harder.

After the excitement of posting “first day” photos wears off, routine sets in.

Carpools, music lessons, homework, getting everyone ready to rush out the door...it’s enough to wear anyone down.

That’s when it’s easy to lose sight of what’s important.  That’s when the enemy whispers, “You don’t make a difference.”

He’s wrong.

You are shepherding eternal souls.

Don’t give up!

The tyranny of the urgent can push what’s important past the fringes of our attention.

Our vision can be so consumed with the day-to-day until there’s no space for long-term goals or ambitions.

But God has ordained that our children, eternal beings, be set in families.

  1. Right On……The most important thing in life is making a positive loving difference for good in a child’s life. Moneycannot buy it. One kind deed may change a life foreverfor the better. Besides it takes a lot less effort to smile and do good than be an ole grump like some old folks I know. Mama used to tell me, sm,ile and world smiles with you, frown and be sour and you willreap the same. It is amazing that I can remember from long long ago. I jujst hope I can be half the lady she was. Boy she could milk a cow in no time and get a real chicken killed, defeathered and cut up and cooked in no time. That part I do not want to learn to do………..I had my morning Dominic fix with my talk to him today, and when I had finished, I felt refreshed as always and I thank God for him if just for a short while and all the grandkids and of course my children, that includes in laws……………love, love to you mu daugahter, and Julian, James and Lillie and Fiona and Hector. Pop heard from James today. We are sooooooooo proud of him and wsh them much happiness always Love, Love, Mama
