Please hear me.
I do NOT blame you that my son and my sorrow have drifted down your list of “things that need attention”. Your life is as busy as mine once was and your calendar full of commitments and celebrations that require your attendance.

Melanie–May I post the link to this post (How to Bless a Grieving Parent) on my Facebook page? I only have about a dozen Facebook friends, but I know the post would be helpful to them since most struggle with whether to mention our Jeffrey Thomas to us. We a little more than three years after his death. Thanks–Jerry Engler (husband of Jeni).

I understand the double dates of grieving … Brandon died on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. So the anxiety and pain of Thanksgiving and the next two days, what we did those days in the hospital to prepare our hearts to walk him to heaven while the world was giving thanks … is agonizing. And the date, Nov. 26, is the second grief. No matter how you try to get through one or the other, they are BOTH heart crushing. Prayers, Melanie, that God will gather you close and you can rest in his arms.

Yes! Some of our circumstances have created extra burdens as we approach milestones we wish we didn’t have to mark. I am so sorry for your loss and pain. ❤
