Some people say they’d love to know what life has around the corner.
Not me.
At least not much past tomorrow morning.
If my husband and I had known thirty-five years ago what our lives would be like along the way, we may very well have turned tail and run in the other direction!
There have been many, many good things in those years.
We have four beautiful children whom we love so much. Two are married and their spouses are a blessing to our family.
And this year our first grandchild made his dramatic appearance at only twenty-eight weeks! We are oh, so thankful he’s doing well. It’s a brand new feeling to watch your son with his.
There have been a fair number of not-so-good things too.
Job layoffs, illness, the death of Hector’s parents one right after the other and the stress and strain of life’s details when it seemed we couldn’t get a break.
But nothing compares to burying Dominic.
How does a heart learn to live with a giant piece missing?
We have, though.
We’ve muddled through.
The commitment we made all those years ago has stood firm.
It’s battered, crumpled, muddied and torn, but it remains the guiding promise of our lives together.
Beautiful!
Happy Anniversary ❤️

Persevering through the challenges life throws at us is never easy, and losing a child is the hardest of all, but when two people have God and each other, all things are possible. Happy anniversary.

Happy Anniversary.. Me and Johnny will be married 35 next year.. We have 2 beautiful kids, one that walks this earth one that is in heaven (Joshua left us at 21 years old, on Christmas Day 2007).. Jennifer is 28 with 2 beautiful girls 5 & 7.. Her and the girls still live home with us.. When we buried him it was the hardest trial on our marriage.. And if i would have known our lives would have turned out without our son, yes I would have turned and ran the other way..

Happy Anniversary!! we will be married 48 years this coming November 26. lots of ups and downs in life. but like you, losing our Lydia was the most devastating! Al and I met when he was 15 and I was 14. I wasnt allowed to officially car date until I turned 16. dated all through high school. got married after high school. i am 66 and Al is 67. I think we both have aged 10 years in the last 3 years. still trying to get beyond just existing and with me cant wait until the day I get to die to be out of this unbearable pain!
